Baloo Lammy
02:37
|
|
||
This day to you is born a child
Of Mary meek the Virgin mild:
That blessed bairn so loving and kind,
Shall now rejoice both heart and mind.
Baloo, lammy
And now shall Mary's little boy
Forever be our hope and joy;
Eternal be his reign here on earth,
Rejoice then all people for this holy birth:
Baloo, lammy
Sleep gently, sweet Jesus, and know no fear,
Thy subjects adoring watch over thee here;
God's angels and shepherds and kine in their stall,
And wise men and Virgin, Thy guardians all:
Baloo, lammy

In the Bleak Midwinter
03:42
|
|
||
In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan,
Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone;
Snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow,
In the bleak midwinter, long ago.
Our God, Heaven cannot hold Him, nor earth sustain;
Heaven and earth shall be remade* when He comes to reign.
In the bleak midwinter a stable place sufficed
The Lord God Almighty, Jesus Christ.
Angels and archangels may have gathered there,
Cherubim and seraphim thronged the air;
But His mother only, in her maiden bliss,
Worshipped the beloved with a kiss.
What can I give Him, poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb;
If I were a Wise Man, I would do my part;
Yet what I can I give Him: give my heart.

Mary's Song
05:43
|
|
||
Joseph's hands, they shook as he laid down the cup of wine
Dark as blood and rich as grace, I would be his and he'd be mine
He didn't know that when the shame settled
That he would be the one to name the king of kings
And the cloth that bound our hands in union as we wed
were the same that bound our God as He laid in our straw bed
Now I know that Love is strong as death
and the Word of God has been born of my flesh
Yes the Word of God has been born of my flesh
When the Angel Gabriel came in the air was full
of the silence and the breath of the Holy One I knew
As He hovered over me there in the dark
I held it all close within my heart
As the fear came near my soul sang aloud
How my God raised the humble and turns away the proud
and all they'll hear will be the whispers of the wind
and the poor shall see the blessings of a King
Yes the poor shall see the blessing of a King
Let it be to me according to Your word
In the darkness of the night I gave into the pain
Where the cry of my own heart mixed with the cry of my babe
There in the straw He looked so small and still
But all the world will kneel before Him
